In short: KeepTo doesn't collect personal information. Your location never leaves your phone.

Location

KeepTo uses your location, including in the background, to notice when you approach and drive through an average-speed zone and to calculate your average. This happens entirely on your iPhone. Your location isn't sent to us or anyone else, and isn't stored except as described under drive history.

Motion

KeepTo uses motion activity to tell when you're driving, so GPS only runs when it's needed. This stays on your phone.

Drive history

Zones you complete (zone name, date, your average and the limit) are saved on your phone so you can see them in Drives. They're included in your normal device backups and are deleted if you delete the app. We can't see them.

Zone data updates

KeepTo occasionally downloads an updated list of average-speed zones from this website, which is served by Cloudflare. The request contains nothing about you, but like any website, Cloudflare can see the IP address that made it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't log requests. This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party fonts, scripts or trackers.

Road hazards

While you're in a zone, KeepTo downloads the current list of reduced-speed incidents and roadworks for all of NSW (from Transport for NSW's Live Traffic service) from getkeepto.com, which is served by Cloudflare. The request is the same for everyone and contains nothing about you or where you are; like any website, Cloudflare can see the IP address that made it. We don't log requests. Matching hazards to your route happens on your phone.

Launch waitlist (website only)

If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address and the date you joined, only to send you one email when KeepTo is on the App Store. We don't share it or add you to anything else. To be removed, email us and we'll delete it. The app itself never asks for your email.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your name, email or payment details.

What we don't do

No accounts or sign-in.
No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
No selling or sharing of data, because we don't have any.
